There's a test you can buy at a drug store (AZO Test Strips) that will tell you if this is a yeast infection or something else.

If you have white discharge with the itching, then its a yeast infection. Plenty of over the counter stuff to get rid of it.

It sounds like Yeast, but you need to have it confirmed by your OB before treating it, because if it is another type of infection and it goes untreated, it could affect your fertility.

See your OBGYN to make sure what kind of infection it is ... it's an infection of some kind hopefully just a yeast and not BV.

Sounds like a yeast infection. If you've never had one before, call your doctor and see what she says. You can probably pick up the over the counter cream start using it right ways. If it's itching externally, you'll want the kind with topical cream as well as anything to insert.

Also, for now, you could try going bare for a while, take a nice bath or shower, dry off then put on a skirt or loose pj pants with no panties and let yourself air out a bit. If that's not possible, make sure you're wearing 100% cotton undies.

Yes, it does sound like a yeast infection.
The itching is miserable.
Get some plain yogurt, warm a little up a bit and apply it directly to the itch.
You can also add 1 cup of yogurt to your bath - your skin all over will love it.
Monistat will clear it up if the yogurt doesn't.

your hormones and Ph is messed up.

Try eating some yogurt to help. It could be a yeast infection and that might need medication. I've NEVER used the OTC yeast infection detector so I do not know if it works or not.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. And wiping thoroughly after urinating...

Where underwear with cotton crotch or nothing at all if you can. Let it air out.

If it is still going on tomorrow - make an appointment with the doctor to get the right medication!

GOOD LUCK!!

Let your lady air out (wear a long skirt sans undies) and try eating some yogurt... if it persists, see your doc.

I've (knock on wood, not trying to jinx myself) never had a yeast infection, but that's what it sounds like. If you trust your pharmacist, ask them for an OTC suggestion.

It sounds like a yeast infection. Go buy a 3 day Monistat application (I don't think the one day works as well.) If this doesn't fix it, then go to the doctor.

So sorry!

I have been able to avoid taking meds when this happens to me by following a regimen that includes cutting way back on sugar and caffiene, taking Azo Yeast Fighter tablets and taking twice-daily baking soda sitz baths. I like kefir instead of yogurt, I drink unflavored or the kind with salt added. The itching is usually gone within 3 days and the baking soda baths relieve it altogether for a few hours. Keep the whole area dry, use the cool setting on your hair dryer after bathing. Go commando whenever possible. If you wear underwear, change it 2-3 times a day.

that happened to me 2 years ago. HORRIBLE!!!!! that is when I found out I had Diabetes. There is a miracle pill but it has to be described by a doc. You may not be Diabetic but your blood sugar might be spiked. Definately cut out sugar for a few days, but go see your doc.

PS I thought it was a yeast infection too. Have had them before but not to this point. When my blood sugar spikes now, the itching starts.

If it is yeast, I swear by apple cider vinegar. Your can drink 3-4 tbs diluted with water, (it tastes awful!!) and then dilute 3-4 tbs with water and use as a duche, clears it right up! But that is if it is a yeast infection.

Yeast is pretty obvious. It's sort of cottage-cheesy.
If it's yeast, don't bother with yogurt, etc., just get an over the counter remedy. There are many brands - my obgyn likes Gynelotremin, but any one will probably do. Go for the 3 day, vs. the 1 day or the 7 day.

There are many reasons for our "ginnys" to get itchy. Mostly because of moisture and bacteria causing it.
Home remedies would be to use one part warm water and one part vinegar on a wash cloth and saturate the area and let it dry. Or you can use some plain yogurt and do the same thing. This will help the ph of your skin down there. Also, dont sleep with panties on and make sure you are dry down there for the most part. Using a cornstarch based powder can keep you drier through the night. If you have sex before bed, it's always a good idea to get up and go pee and wipe the area down to clean it up a bit, powder it, so it doesnt stay moist all night long allowing bacteria to thrive. Younger women, during your sexual years, are more prone to yeast and other things just because you are using that part of your body on a regular basis.

"assuming" it's a yeast infection and nothing more, try Capryl.... you can get the supplements. take one and drink LOTS, I mean LOTS of water with the tablet .. it actually goes in and kills off the yeast in the gut (which is where it begins) .... anyway, I take one of those (I hate meds) and BAM.......... within a day, much better.... Again, you do need to drink lots of water because as the yeast dies off, you want to flush it from your system..give em a try.. I can't say enough positive things about the stuff..... you may want to check with your doctor too just to make sure it's nothing more than yeast...
also. if you have eater more sugar, processed flour (like say in baking) and or fermented or cured foods, yeast loves those things....... so you may want to lay off of them until better..

best of luck to you

That happened to me a couple months ago. I went to the Dr, she said I had a "slight" bacterial infection - she recommended I take pro-biotics. She said that should help, plus along with some things that others have already told you (no panties to bed, keep it dry, etc) ..... she gave me an antibiotic prescription just in case.. But thank goodness after taking the probiotics for a few days I was all better. I didnt even need to fill the prescription.

Make an appointment with your gyn. I'm suffering from that also. With me, it's recurring yeast infections. My dr. gave me a prescription for a cream that is applied externally. It gets rid of the itching. Hope you feel better.
