I am looking for any travel related products that will make it easier to travel with our two year old son. We plan to take our car seat and rent a stroller on arrival. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

When flying with my 2 year old we used a Sit 'n' Stroll which is a combination car seat and stroller which is approved for air travel. My son loved it! I found a gently used one on Craigslist since they are a bit pricey.

While my hubby is a computer guru, we all have iPhones....little ones learn by example, right? He knows how to use it, so we got him his own iTouch...put his movies on it from iTunes and hooked it through the rigged cheap DVD player in the car....on the plane, we just gave it to him to watch...he didn't care there wasn't any sound, or couldn't hear it....didn't want to give him earphones just in case he turned the sound all the way up....
A magazine has several travel ideas, OneStepAhead, or website, onestepahead.com is really useful!!
Good luck and have fun!!

I second the GoGo Kidz....you can get it at babies R us or One Step Ahead dot com.

it easily attaches to your car seat and makes it so you can push your child through the airport, then comes off fast and you keep it in the overhead compartment. LIFESAVER!!

I'm assuming you are flying?

DVD player, earplugs (for fellow passengers), Magna Doodle or AquaDoodle, magnetic puzzles (so the pieces don't get lost), finger puppets, an INSANE amount of finger food, new books, his lovey, pacifiers (if he still uses them), a blanket (can be cold on the plane). I thought a backpack worked really well for hauling all the stuff around.

Hi! I assume you are flying? I would take your stroller. You can take it right up to the gate, and then it will be waiting for you as soon as you get off the plane. Makes it easier for you to get through the airports, too, and you have a place to store things while walking through the airports.

There are a lot of good threads on Mampedia re travel. I would do a search and read through the great answers.

We always brought new, small toys and books, wrapped so our kids would have the thrill of unwrapping them. We would give a new toy every hour or so, so you can think about how many you want for the flight. My kids are older now, but I still pop up with baseball cards or books as treats sometimes!

Enjoy your trip!

Check out the Gogo Kidz. You can buy it from amazon.com or onestepahead.com (maybe other places, too). It turns your carseat into a stroller and makes it SOOOO much easier to get through the airport.

A Leapster.
Both my kids, from 2 years old, loved theirs and could use it by themselves.
And it is fun and educational and you can adjust the volume.
Just bring extra batteries with you.
It is well worth the price.
Amazon, walmart, E-bay has it.

Also good is:
http://www.amazon.com/Mommy-Im-Here-cl-103br-Locator/dp/B...

It is a child locator. Good for traveling or anytime& anywhere in public or even with just you outside at the park etc. I got one for my daughter when she went on a trip with my Husband. They used it everyday.
It works REAL well. Even through buildings.

all the best,
Susan

we have a portable dvd player which is nice. I also like getting the huggies disposable wipes so you dont have to worry about liquid body wash or anything.
