Hello, just wondering what to do with the used baby bottles that my baby has grown out of. I feel like wasting it if i throw them out. any thoughts or opinions?

What can I do next?

I would recycle them. With the whole BPA issue I wouldn't ever use and old bottle with a new baby and they really do need to be replaced every so often anyways. I will be doing the same with sippy cups.

Since it sounds like you do not plan to have other children and will never have use of them again, you could donate them to a Goodwill or Salvation Army store. I would throw away the nipples though.

Recycle or throw them out if they are plastic. No babies should be exposed to the BPA. I don't know if yours have BPA or not, do you? It's so unfortunate children have been exposed to that, mine included. I have ordered some glass bottles and they work great.

Hi M.,
You should throw out the bottles or recycle them according to your community's guidelines. Bottle plastic (I'm assuming these are plastic bottles) breaks down over a period of use. If you are sure they are BPA-free, you may be able to use them again (or someone else could), but it is better to be safe. If they are glass, you could donate them to a woman's shelter. Bottle nipples, in general, should be replaced every few weeks to few months, depending on how hard your baby sucks/chews (my son would shred them, given the opportunity!), so those should probably just be thrown out.

Join a freecycle group in your area. It's a group of people who give good stuff that can still be used, and keeps it out of the landfills. If you go to yahoo go under groups and find one local to you. Their all over the world actually. I've gotten and given tons this way. The bonus...it's all free.
