So What Happened?

I am thinking of buying the Fondue set that Target has in their ad this week and buying goodies to go with it for all of us and maybe Chineese food. My husband will buy me something either way so I need to come up with something for him. Doesn't have to be big just something to make him feel special knowing I spent time thinking about him.

I bought my hubby speedos! We got a hot tub in December and he has been saying (half jokingly) that he would like a speedo to wear in it instead of his somewhat large mens swimsuit that soaks up tons of water and makes him colder when he gets out. I bougth him one regular speedo and one called "square speedo" that has a little bit more coverage. I actually caved in and gave them to him last night and he loves them - and we had a REALLY good laugh together! I've already told him that he can't wear them when company comes over though........

I am making "naughty" sugar cookies, LOL. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, then cutting the pointy part of the hearts off and decorating them with royal icing to make boobies and bums (and some racy undies). Wrapping the cookies up in lace. I figure it is an inexpensive gift that he will get a good laugh over.

Nothing. I am very happy with him and couldn't love a person more, but he's getting nothing. Valentines Day isn't special to us. It really is truly a retailer's holiday.

We WILL, however be getting cards and a sweet treat for each of our four girls. Valentines day means something to them- besides, they are very mushy, lovey-dovey, affectionate girls and are very excited about V-day:)

A card and his favorite candy, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
For my daughter card and a Melissa & Doug cookie set (got it on sale for $10 and do not want to wait till her b-day to give it to her).

We just celebrated Christmas and our anniversary. Plus you should be showing love all year round so we hardly celebrate Valentine's Day outside of cards and candy (maybe flowers). We have been trying really hard to put emphasis on romance and love year round not just get stuck on doing something just for the holidays. Lastly women tend to go the great distance when it comes to Valentine's Day and then sad about what their husband did or did not do for them. Hence why hubby and I are doing little for this "holiday" and focusing more on year round... so far loving that valentine's day feeling every week instead of the pressure of doing something so great for just that one day.

We don't do a whole lot. We usually just exchange cards and go out to eat - nothing too fancy for us. My mom offered to pick my daughter up tomorrow morning and take her out for a while so we'll have a little quiet time. Unfortunately, I have a hair appointment but my hubby and I are planning a quiet lunch afterwards - that will be our Valentine's meal together. If my mom will keep her long enough maybe we can even sneak an early movie in. :)

Blue-tooth for his cell phone... he is coveting mine, but won't buy one for himself! I also bought the book "If I Could Keep You Little" for him to read to our son (nightly routine) and we'll order take-out from our favorite sushi place this year, so that's a treat for us both!

He buys me a box of those little candy hearts every year- it's "his thing" b/c he knows that I LOVE THEM and will eat them until I'm nauseous, so I won't buy them for myself. It's actually really sweet and I look forward to it waiting on my pillow when I wake up!

I usually just bake him his favorite cake and we go out to dinner. However, this year it looks like we don't have a free night for dinner. I might consider some Star Trek DVDs he's been wanting.

Card and a box of Turtles. He loves them. And a new pair of red boxers that I came across a few weeks ago (his favorite brand).

I don't usually make it a big deal. It's right after Xmas, and his birthday is 3 days later... I save anything else for his birthday. lol

We are big fans of the Green Bay Packers so he is getting a championship t-shirt for Valentines Day. I'm lucky, and surprised, he hasn't bought one for himself yet!
