Wanted: the Perfect Bag

I like Vera Bradley quilted bags....roomy and LOTS of pockets. That's what worked for me when I didn't need a diaper bag any more.

I just get a messanger bag that I really liked (at Target). They are big enough to carry the needed items but not huge like a diaper bag. Plus you cab get what ever style you like. Now that my daughter is out of diapes I use as a beach bag.

I find a backpack so much more useful when I am out w my boys. I can pack us a picnic lunch, lots of drinks, wipes, etc. My favorite is LL Bean.

I have a large bag from a garage sale but it's awesome, but I got a pocket insert to put in it for baby/kids items like diapers and such. I got a little zippy pouch for the large kids things like diapers/wipes and so when I go out without the kids, I take out the mini diaper wipes case bag and it works great.

That is the bag I have. I'm not sure that it meets all your requirements, but it does go from messenger bag to backpack. I'm not sure what your "essentials" are. It is really light empty, and goes right in the washing machine, there are internal and external pockets. I love this bag. It was my 3rd or 4th diaper bag and it is the only one that has stopped me from constantly looking for something new.

I have SUCH a hard time finding a GOOD bag. I personally have never been a fan of a tradtional "purse" I've always been more of a messenger back type.
I LOVE bags though..have to have LOTS of zippers, pockets and HAS to be big enough to fit my sketch books & pens & Baby stuff...

I just can't Find one :(
