Washing Machine Repair Needed in Oak Park

I have a front loading HE washing machine which recently stopped working properly. It seemed it was getting stuck at the spin cycle, leaving clothes clean but soaking wet, and now its stopping before even a full wash cycle. Any suggestions for something I can try myself before calling a repair man? If not, any recommendations for a reliable repair service in the area?
Thanks,
K.

When we had a dryer repair issue, we called the Fix It Guy (look for him on Yelp). He came the same day and was really reasonable.

We always use Bill from Bill's Appliance. He's in Oak Park. ###-###-####

When ours stopped spinning (front loader) we googled the make, model and problem and were able to figure out a component on our model was breaking down for other people as well.. We got the new part, husband installed and we are as good as new. No sure how handy you are, but I would google before calling a repairman.

I always call Sears. It doesn't matter if you bought your appliances from them or not, they will still come out and service. I like that they have been around for years and back up all their repairs. They will let you know up front the price for the service call. Also, once they repair it, they give you a warranty on that repair, so if it breaks again in x amout of time, they will repair it for free.
