hey ladies! i was wondering if anyone has had success with the new weight watchers points plus program where fruit has 0 points. after my first child i lost the weight with the help of WW. now with the 2nd baby i am thinking about getting serious about losing the weight. i know WW now lets you have a lot of fruit but that seems odd to me since fruit has so many calories and sugar. i would love to be able to work this program because i LOVE fruit and have always reduced my fruit consumption when on a diet and have always been bummed about this.

i am hoping to find people that use this program, eat a lot of fruit and have still lost weight.

thanks

Just because fruits are "free" on the new program, it does not mean that they are "unlimited"! My WW leader said to keep them to no more than 5-6 servings a day. One of my WW friends was flabbergasted to discover that all the bananas she ate last week actually caused her to gain weight. As in anything else, moderation is the key. The new plan nudges you to eat more protein than the previous plan, and encourages you to make better choices when it comes to using your daily points. I have found the new plan to be a bit of an adjustment, just because most of the points values for foods I regularly eat have changed, so I can't just add them in my head anymore. That being said, I think it's a more well-rounded plan overall, and I'm finding it easier to stick to because I feel like I'm getting more food than before. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat less and move more, which is and always has been the mantra of WW. It's a good plan, and seems to work well for most people. Good Luck!

I am not going to WW now but I am currently doing the old program. Here is what I found out from people who are on the new plan. Fruit = 0 points but everything else is higher in points. They no longer base the points on calories, fat and fiber. They are aiming to get you to eat more lean meats, whole wheats and not just lose weight by eating a bunch of lowfat, ww and 2 point packets! I also know you get 49 flex points instead of 35 per week. I love fruit too so am interested in the new plan but for now I'm going to stick with what I'm doing since it's free!

Yep a good one indeed! Following it starting this week. I did well on the old program so let's see what happens. I am a supporter of WW because they have you use your own foods...It is all about choices and portion control.

I was talking to a friend this weekend and am interested in this too. I have a theory about the fruit. My understanding is that only whole fruit is free, not things like juice. I have a feeling it's the quantity that most of us can eat as opposed to drink. Juice also wouldn't have as much fiber. Just a theory and I'm interested in others opinions.

I did the old program, too, and have maintained using it. Check out the Weight Watchers board on BabyCenter. There are moms there using the new one and doing well with it.

I like the idea of the new program and have heard it's also much better about allowing protein, which is big for me since I'm hypoglycemic. However, since I did well on the old program and have kept the weight off, I'm not changing the way I'm doing things (It ain't broke, don't fix it).
