My two year old son has such sensitive skin and there are dray marks on his legs especially behind the knees and they are sooo big and and I want to take care of those dry markings esp. the ones behind his knees. I would like to use something homeopathic, but if there isn't any please let me know if you mothers dealt with that and what you used.

What can I do next?

Hi S., it may be be excema, our son has had it since infancy he's 3 now. The rash behind the knee is classic of excema. It responds very well to prescription cream. It may be best to visit a pediatric dermatologist. That is what we had to do and the cream we were given worked wonderfully. Our son still uses it from time to time. Aquaphor cream is a good lotion, but is not a cure or treatment for excema. My recommendation is to see a dermatologist.

Best of luck,
S.

Have you tried Burt's Bees. It is usually 95% or higher natural ingredients. I won't use any other lotion. They do make a baby formula that is buttermilk. It goes on very thick and you don't need alot to cover a small area. It is made with bee's wax so it really soaks into the skin and stays soft for a long time. I love it.

Sounds like your little one has eczema. try some hydrocortisone(ie:Cortisone 10)over the counter and see if it helps. Look for ointments, as it is better than the cream. If you find these are indeed just dry patches, try some A&D ointment, vitamin E oil or vaseline. Also, try giving him a warm shower, while in the shower and after he is bathed, place cream all over his body and rinse off. Take him out of the shower, pat him dry so that his skin is still moist and lather him up with Vaseline Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Lotion or better yet...the oil. Vaseline makes this particular cream in an oil as well and it is awesome!!!!! It is made of cocoa butter and vitamin E. If the condition does not clear up, talk to your pediatrician. Good Luck!

S. you have to try Arbonne's baby line!! Check out my site: www.theskinyourin.myarbonne.com for more info. I would be more than happy to send you a free sample too. If you are interested in a homeopathic alternative then you would be happy to know Arbonne has NO mineral oil like SOO many of the other products out there & is 100% pure, safe, & beneficial this means all our ingredients are botanically based from plants and actually penetrate the skin to work wonders! Arbonne's baby oil has been amazing for exema sufferes young & old - check out the website for before and after pictures!!

hope to hear from you soon,

:) A.

HI S.

My 9 mo old son is also super sensitive.

I use organic raw coconut oil or org olive oil on his skin and it really helps. I also only use natural remedies. The coconut oil is amazing stuff and works wonders on dry skin when taken internally. (it cures a host if things) I make my own baby food and I always mix a tsp into the batch for him. It's a really beneficial fat.

My doctor tells me to use 1% hydracortisone ointment (not the cream b/c the ointment stays on better). This really seems to work for my son. You might want to run it by your doctor first just b/c your little one is still very little. My son is going on 2.

It sounds like ezcema. My daughter is now 5 and has had it since she was about 1. I asked my pediatrician and he told me that is from an allergy. I had her tested and she is allergic to eggs and milk. when they are totally avoided the spots clear up, but it is hard to avoid everything with milk and eggs. I have found that when it is really bad she gets relief from the Aveeno oatmeal bath. I also use Aveeno soap on her. Acter her bath I put Eucerin Cream on her, but when the spots are bad I use Cortaid 10 Ointment and give her a couple doses of Benedryl over the course of a day or so. It really helps and it makes her much more comfortable!! good Luck!!

My 11 week old has eczema and I use aquaphor and johnsons soothing naturals. Aveeno also makes a baby cream that keeps it at bay after it is under control (eczema). use any hydrocortisone sparingly my dr says. I only use that when baby is obviously experiencing discomfort and itching herself.
