What Do You Put on Your Toddler When S/he Eats?

Any ideas how to keep my little girl from making her shirts so messy when she eats? She takes off every bib I put on, so I've resorted to putting on old shirts before she eats.

What can I do next?

I LOVE the bibs we use. They are similar to this Target version.

The ones we use are actually softer flexible plastic and snaps up to form a pocket and has a snap closure in back. I LOVE them. They catch all the food that doesn't make it in the mouth, they wash SOO easy (we wash them in the dishwasher). They are GREAT!! This one at Target has a tougher closure for a baby to undo it looks like. They also have some at IKEA that are green with frog eyes on the pockets. They are REALLY cheap and the closure is impossible for 2 and 3 year olds to undo even. The harder plastic may be something for your baby to get used to, but she won't be able to get it off herself. The snap up ones we use are real flexible and comfortable, but your daughter MAY be able to undo the snap if she pulls real hard. Hope this helps!

My daughter did the same thing. I went to a children's craft store and bought aprons that kids use to paint with. They have sleeves and tie in twoo places in the back making it almost impossable for her to get off.

My 12 month old loved to pull his velcro bib off, so now I use a bib that he can not pull off. I purchased terry cloth bibs that go over his head like a shirt, so there is no velcro or tie in the back. I think I purchased it at ToyRUs.

Also, someone just gave us a bib for his birthday that has sleeves. It also pulls over his head like a shirt, and then he puts his hands through the wrists. That works well but I don't know where they purchased it. It says 'Mommy's little bull rider'. Maybe you can 'google' it. Good luck!

We ended up double bibbing our daughter because she kept taking her bibs off. We use one pull over the head kind and one velcro kind. She usually will pull one off and forget she has another one on.
