Hi all,

I am 11 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and would like to purchase a body pillow. There are so many to choose from, I would like your suggestions on which one to pick and to stay away from.

Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I have decided on one of the U shaped pillows. At least that's what I've told Santa I want and need for Christmas. Hopefully, he'll get me the right one and I'll start getting a good night's sleep, minus the bathroom visits. Thanks again!!!

I got a Snoogle this time around (or something just like it). It is my 4th pregnancy and I had bad back issues with all three of my first pregnancies. I had to see chiropractors on a somewhat regular basis. BUT, I'm 35 weeks along and have had no back issues at all this time around. I believe it's because of the better back/neck support from the pillow this pregnancy. I used a regular body pillow for my other pregnancies and it was comfortable enough, but I don't think it aligned my spine quite as well as it should've.

Good luck!

Costco has great body pillows - I accidentally left mine at the hospital when my son was born, so we picked up a new one at costco and it is comfortable and soft to snuggle with! It is a faux fur feeling - even my husband likes to try and use it!

I use the Boppy pillow for pregnant women. It's a good pillow, but has lost a lot of it's thickness over the months. Perhaps if I wash it it might fluff up again.

I LOVE the "comfort U" pillow. It is shaped like a giant U so it comforts both your front and back. Do a google search to see pictures and details. You have to order it online-- but it is worth it.

Snoogle! It's a bit expensive but well worth it. It definitely made sleeping more bearable. It feels like the pillow is cradling you, so nice!

Hi A.,
I got the pillow that has the J shape - I don't remember which brand. I think I just bought whatever was available on Babycenter.com. I would put the bottom of the J between my legs and it relieved the pressure on my hips. It was also easy to flip over in the middle of the night so I could switch sides.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I just had a cheap-o from Wal-Mart and it worked out great. I also got a special between the knees pillow at Bed, Bath & Beyond that was good. It always depended on how I felt. Later in my pregnancy I used my step-son's bean bag in bed to sleep propped up to help with my snoring. Ahhhh, the good ole days!!

The Snoogle, you will love it, I mean actually love it. I loved mine so much, I used it through 2 pregnancies and it even ended up with a name.

Try going to www.amazon.com, and just typing in the search word "body pillows" or "maternity body pillows" and many will show up.
The good thing about checking it out on Amazon, is that you can read all the reviews there, for each product. And the pricing. And many of them have "free ship."

For me personally when I was pregnant, I just used a generic body pillow from Costco. That was enough for me and it didn't cost much.

Good luck, some of those pillows look so comfy!
All the best,
Susan

I didn't use a body pillow for any of my pregnancies; I wanted to save my funds for baby items......I've always used a firm standard bed pillow (an extra one in the house). I placed it in a position to rest my upper leg on when I slept on my side, and under my knees when I wanted to lay on my back. It was easy to move around & in my final month (carrying twins) I had one on each side of me so that when I rolled over, as that was a chore in itself....the other pillow was there for me.

Hi there.

I had one of those memory pillows and it was just a long rectangular one. LOVED it!

I tried the ones that wrap around and look like giant boppy pillows, but could NEVER get them to work for me...this thing was perfect. I think it was from Brookstone.

Good luck!

Leachco Back 'N Belly - Contoured Body Pillow
I used this with my first and I am pregnant again and plan to start using it again very soon. I liked this pillow b/c you do not need to turn with it. Because it is U-shaped you sleep in the middle of it. No need to pick the pillow up and turn with it. One of my best purchases when I was pregnant.
