The last set I bought wound up pilling up after the first wash....
I don't know the thread count because I don't have the package....
What do you buy that's reasonably priced?

What can I do next?

I buy the highest thread count I can afford. Usually Ross has a good choice and sometimes I can catch them on clearance. I HATE satin, flannel and microfiber. So I only buy 100% cotton. Good luck.

Lands End or LL Bean when I have coupons I can use.
I'll also check their ovestocks to look for mark downs.
They are not reasonably priced BUT the corners don't slip and I never have trouble with pilling.
I like spending a bit more for something that will last than buying cheap that needs to be replaced often.

I buy jersey knit sheets or flannel sheets for the winter. The last set purchased were from Target for a great price and they fit very well. No problems with pilling.

I have a Sleep Number bed and I use the Sleep Number sheets.

I've found good quality sheets at Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Kohls

I pay more for higher thread count. It's worth it

I only buy cotton sheets. Years ago, I bought sheets that were mostly cotton with a bit of polyester. I haven't seen those available in several years. I'm having a difficult time even finding quality cotton sheets. Seems like most are now synthetic.

I've never had sheets pill in the last 50 years. My mom had sheets that pilled. They were inexpensive, mostly synthetic with some cotton.

The main reason I buy cotton is for the comfort in absorbing sweat. Synthetic sheets feel clammy to me.

BTW percale is cotton. Cotton isn't necessarily percale. Muslin is cotton and has a rough texture. Percale is smooth. The higher the thread count, the softer/smoother the sheet. A sheet with a really high thread count will wear longer.

I get mine on sale at LL Bean or Lands End. I just always have because they last forever and come in so many colors and fabrics. They last and wash well.

I tend to wait till they have a sale on and then coupons and get them pretty inexpensively. Usually the colors that have been recently discontinued. That way, I can get high end sheets and my kids could care less what shade of blue they have.

I usually buy mine from TJ Maxx. I don't pay a lot of attention to the thread count but they MUST be 100% cotton. I hate those polyester sheets. Anyway, TJ Maxx seems to have the best prices unless I'm paying close attention to sales circulars.

I buy our sheets at Lands End, on sale. They hold up to repeated wash and wear beautifully. Having said that, we were given a gift a few years ago of some flannel sheet sets from Target and to my surprise they, too, have held up beautifully wash after wash, season after season.

Groupon had a deal on sheets. I decided to try them out for our king size bed. I believe it's 1400 thread count for $65. They are amazing. Our last sheet sets were from Bed Bath and Beyond for $150. These sheets from Groupon are wonderful.

I try to buy 800 thread count and double-ply fabric. I wait until they are on sale.

I love Jersey sheets (T-shirt material) for my kids. They love that they feel like their favorite t-shirts.

I love to watch Groupon for sheet sales!!

I tend to rely on Penney's for sheets and towels. unless I've hoarded a bunch of BB and B coupons and then I'll go there for either item. Tried Target and wasn't happy with the quality and, with all due respect to everyone, and I mean that sincerely, I don't shop at walmart for political reasons. not a fan of the T-Shirt or flannel sheets...I tend to get tangled up in them. Good old cotton works for us. :-) S.

I find nice soft sheets with higher thread counts at Sam's club. They have 2 thread counts, the less expensive ones seem just fine to me.

Try sheets made out of percale instead of cotton. They're higher quality sheets and last longer.

I buy flannel sheets. They wear well and don't pill. The last set we bought was, gads, before Kiddo was born, so like, 9 years ago. The set was on sale for about $40 total. When we downsized from the king to the queen mattress, I just used the top sheet on the mattress to replace the too-big fitted sheet. (We don't use a top sheet on the bed, just fitted and a duvet.) Guess it's time to go shopping again. And no, the fabric still hasn't pilled.
