What Teachers Do You Give Gifts To?

My son is in kindergarten and I know I am going to give a gift card to his teacher, and he is the only one in the room all day. But, they have separate teachers for music, art, gym, health, etc. Do you give a gift to all of them? I hate to ignore them as I know they are important too, so I am wondering what everyone else does. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

As a teacher I know my kids would give me gifts, but often not the gym, music, or art teachers. I think it is really nice of you to think of them. Like the other poster said, they are often ignored and I'm sure they would appreciate the thought. No gifts are neccesary of course, even a handmade card would be appreciated.

I was a teacher- and it would be really nice to give something to all the people your child has contact with at school...it does not have to be fancy. Homemade candies- or Walmart even has cute cornaments for 2$ each!

I gave their main teacher a bigger gift and the other teachers something smaller. Like a $5.00 gift card.

The main teacher is who gets the gift. But I think that to have the kids make a card for the other teachers is a great idea. My sister whas a teacher and she got a lot of thoughtful gifts. She did say that she got a lot of gifts, tons after just a few years of school. She didn't know what to do with all of them and not all of them were things that she would have picked out herself but felt badly to get rid of the gifts because her students were so generous. She loved gift cards to restuarants, book stores things like that. I think if your child especially likes one of his teachers that teach those classes then it would be appropriate to buy a little something.

You're right, you should acknowledge the special teachers as well. Do you *have* to give a gift? No...but you are correct in suggesting that these people are important too (and oft ignored). Maybe make your selections based upon how much time your child spends with them. For example, at daycare my son's primary caregiver gets the bigger gift while the support staff (i.e. the people who work from like 2-5) get smaller tokens of appreciation.
