Has anyone learned Spanish as an adult? I am truly a beginner and have wanted to learn since I moved to Texas but never found the time. Does anyone know of a good place for me to learn? I have heard so much about Rosetta Stone and wonder if that might be a helpful tool? Thanks.

You could look into taking a course or two at your local community college...if you do the course as continuing education it is fairly affordable. Good Luck!

I had a friend who learned Italian with Rosetta Stone and said it was the best language learning tool he's ever tried. But, it's very expensive.

Try community college classes or even your local library (either classes or books/cassettes to check out). I learned Spanish in high school and majored in it in college and truly, the best place to learn it is abroad at a language school. Even if you can only do two-three weeks, immersion is the best method.

I'm another community college fan. I learned Spanish at Richland College. They have lots of classes, even night classes. I even took a 7 a.m. class once, and it was great.

community college!! and it's much cheaper than buying rosetta stone AND you might get free access to rosetta stone in the language lab, depending on which college you study! i began at the age of 23 and i'm nearly fluent a mere 2.5 years later! if you're in the dallas area, i can even recommend specific instructors. i am actually a spanish tutor, and worked as a continuing education instructor last spring semester at el centro college. feel free to email me for any info!!!
