Hi San Fernando Valley moms - because of a change in my work status (see prior posts), we are laying off my son's amazing nanny in January. She is an absolute gem, and I want to do everything I can to help her find a new position. I've already posted on Peachhead and Jen's List; do you know of any other websites or listserves that serve the SFV area where I can post? Is it worth posting on Craig's List - do people hire nannies from there? She is being proactive and is registering with an agency, but I want to make sure we go as broad as possible. Thanks!

I think that it can't hurt to post on Craigslist. Lots of people find nannies there. And especially with a recommendation coming from you! Also, what about Sittercity?
Sittercity.com is fantastic and it's nationwide! I found so many qualified nannies off of there in a very short amount of time, and the person we hired was wonderful. A lot of people use both that and Care.com.
I used Care.com. I thought it was a great website. You do have to pay a small fee if you want to contact people and you want background checksand stuff. But I think it is a small price to pay for someone to take special care of your kids! Good luck!
