Our baby girl seemed to hate sleep from the get-go. After 9 months of multiple night-time wakings, we were desperate for a good night’s sleep. I read several books on baby sleep and implemented various strategies; however, the tormented nights continued. We finally decided to get professional help. I was super skeptical about hiring a sleep consultant at first. I did not want to pay someone to tell me about all the stuff I’d already read about that didn’t work. I have also never been a fan of the cry-it-out-alone method. I considered a couple different consultants and I was sold on Katie after calling her references. I am so grateful that we chose Katie. She is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She devised a plan specific to our baby’s needs and our parenting style. She explained the reasoning behind each step and she was a great coach. In the first few days, we may as well have had walkie-talkies for how many times we checked in with each other. She offered continuous support to ensure we developed the confidence to do it on our own. Now, we can now proudly say our baby sleeps through the night! Even if she does wake at night for one reason or another (dog barking, dad sneezing, etc), she now has the skills to soothe herself back to sleep. We also appreciate the comfort of knowing that Katie is still there for us if quick questions ever come up. Had we known how effective Katie’s methods would be, we would have called her months sooner. Life is so much better with sleep! We can actually envision having a second child now 

My daughter is 18 months and if it weren't for Katie, I would still be trying to figure out how I was going to get out daughter to sleep every night. Please see my testimonial on her website. It really says it best.
You are doing your child a disservice if you are not providing them with a supportive environment where they can develop self-soothing skills

I have twins and called Katie when they were 10 months old and still not sleeping through the night. My daughter still was getting up 6 times a night, while my son was got up 2 times a night. Needless to say, I was TIRED! I tried the CIO method before, but it didn't work with me. Katie offered some suggestions to what I should change. They cried 45 minutes the first not, 15 the next, and by day 3 they were sleeping through the night. She maintains a great relationship with me (it's been well over 3 months). Although she says 2 weeks of support, she gives more. She wants to make sure everyone is comfortable and well rested!

My husband and I were seriously at the end of our ropes. We have an older daughter whose sleep was never an issue, so we thought the second child would be a breeze. So not true!! Lily had trouble sleeping, like most babies, so I thought, "It will get better". I thought this every single month until finally we had enough. We were up for the day around 4-4:30am, not to mention up several times a night trying to soothe her back to sleep. Naps were a constant struggle. I found Katie online and called her. I liked her immediately and totally trusted everything she told me. Lily was close to a year old by the time I finally found Katie, so I was ready to do whatever she said. She gave me a plan to follow based on all our conversation. She told me to stick with it and we did everything she suggested. She spent a lot of time with us on the phone. We live in San Diego, so all of the consulting was via telephone. She was available ANY time I called and never sounded too busy to talk. We got 2 weeks of support from her and before that time was up, Lily was sleeping through the night!!! Not only that, but she was napping regularly and developed a very regular routine. I can't say enough wonderful things about Katie and her vast knowledge of childrens sleep. She was a lifesaver for our family and literally "fixed" things. Now, over a year later, Lily naps for 3 hours a day and sleeps soundly all night long, without exception. Thanks Katie!

I would recommend Katie Smith to any mom who is seeking guidance and support and most importantly, a plan to help their little one learn to fall asleep on their own!! Not only does she give you a step-by-step plan and see you through it, but her follow up is just as amazing. Katie helped me with my 9 month old and he is now 15 months old; Katie has continued to stay in contact with me which is more than I could have asked for. Thank you Katie for all that you have done for my family, and all that you continue to still do!!!

For all sleep deprived moms afraid of "sleep training", before you read one more book, or talk to one more mother, I would urge you to call Katie. I am an A type personality, full time working mom who read every book, talked to countless experts, and consulted every mom I knew. Katie is the best, and knows her stuff. But most importantly she is there to help you through every question specific to your situation. She helped me devise a plan for my 8 month old son which got him sleeping in two nights, AS WELL AS the miracle of napping. She was there every second, and when I originally hired her to help me, I wanted someone who was available immediately. She came to my home, and talked me through a million small questions. She is ALWAYS available which is a necessity for me. I can't recommend her enough. Don't spend any more time delerious and exhausted.

I was fortunate enough to find Katie when I sought help for my 13 month old son who was waking every hour, around the clock. I was beyond sleep deprived and I needed help- fast. I was terrified at the prospect of letting him cry and I couldn't imagine how I would extricate myself from the "all night buffet" feeding patten I had gotten myself into. After much research, I decided on Katie. I couldn't be happier or more thrilled with the results. My son was sleeping through the night by the third night. Crying was very minimal, I could hardly believe how fast things fell into place. By the end of the first week, there was no fussing at all when I put him down at night. He happily cuddles his blanket and goes right to sleep. Her follow up support was amazing as well. On the days that I got to busy to call and check in- she would call me! Calling Katie was one of the best and most important decisions we made since the birth of our son. My only regret is that I didn't do it a lot sooner!

Katie changed our lives! Our 3 and a half month old son was not sleeping longer than 2 hours. Needless to say, both my husband & I were exhausted & we knew that our son was too. We had no idea what to do so we called in the expert - Katie Smith. She did a great job of educating us & helping our son learn to sleep through the night. Her constant support was invaluable & I've recommended her to several friends.

I enlisted Katie's help with sleep issues for my 16 month old. My son was waking several times a night and in my bed. I should say too, that I had not slept though a single night in over three years b/c my older son also woke several times a night. I was exhausted and at my wits end. Katie created a sleep plan and within one month my son was not only sleeping through the night, but in his own crib and napping without any problem for 2-3 hours during the day. Yes, it was hard work, and yes it is not easy to hear any crying. But, Katie provided unlimited support. We spoke several times and day and she coached me through every part of the plan. She was amazing! I then called Katie for help months later for some behavioral issues my older son was having. Again, she provided a plan and unlimited support throughout the training process. Her insights and parent-coaching skills truly changed our family. My son's behavior has done a complete turn-around for the better. I truly feel lucky to have met Katie and had her support. Anyone thinking of calling Katie for help should not hesitate. She is a true professional!

Katie changed our lives. My husband and I had been dealing for six years with my daughter's horrible night time battles. We were fed up, and exhausted. Katie came into our home and within one night transformed our entire night time routine. From day one, my daughter went to bed in her own bed and the battle was OVER! Katie is a miracle worker! I would recommend her to anyone who is struggling with a child with sleep issues or who just needs a better routine set in place. She will walk you through all issues you have with your child and will be there to help you in any time of need. My daughter calls Katie "the sleep doctor," because she made sleeping in her own bed "all better."

Katie was a blessing for my son and our family! She had him sleeping through the night the 1st day!!! My doctor told me he had colic - he didn't, he was simply sleep deprived. Katie's help and support gave us our lives back! A year later she still continues to be available for support and to answer questions as they come up including non-sleep related issues. I read the previous review and never did Katie instruct us to medicate our child. She has never referenced or inferred medicating either. Perhaps there was some sort of misunderstanding. I highly recommend Katie and suggest her to every new parent I know.

I want to save my fellow sleepless, desperate moms a few hundred dollars.. if you really want to sleep train your baby ( that's what she does) then enlist a close friend or family member to be your support and available to talk to every day or more than once a day while training.
I was not thinking clearly and so desperate that I called Katie. She instructed me to keep baby in the crib and cry it out. She called to check up and offer support, that's it. There is no miracle advice like I hoped for.
Just a few days into the training my baby started teething. She instructed administer motrin several times a day. So basically I drugged my baby with motrin 24/7 (against my better judgement) for almost two weeks- under her advice. Sleep training just stopped and after she didn't call me back I just said forget it. I was too miserable and overtired to try to ask for my money back.
Months later when I regained my state of mind and after several doctors said they would never recommend using that much motrin, the last one telling me she had a young patient who needed dialysis from taking the recommended amount of motrin, I was so angry I contacted her. She offered no apologies, said that it said on the bottle that amount of motrin was fine. Her lack of care worried me the most I wonder how many other desperate mothers she is giving such poor advice to.
This is no expert in anyway. Even though she never gave me the promised 2 weeks of help ( also there is no e-mail support) she refused to refund me in anyway. Please save your money and look for an alternative!

I have been working with Katie for a few days now because my 3 1/2 month old daughter started waking up from naps after only 20 minutes and won't go back to sleep. After 5 weeks of this, she is cranky and exhausted. Added to this, she is still up 3-6 times each night. I have read hundreds of pages of baby books on sleep, but have been so confused about all the contradictions. Nothing I have tried over the last 2 months seems to work. I was exhausted and in tears. It's only been a few days since Katie worked on a plan with me, but my daughter took a nap this morning for an hour and a half - no fussing, crying or waking. She happily played in her crib until she fell asleep on her own. This also happened last night for the first time when I put her to bed - and then again tonight. My friend even commented today that my daughter seems so much happier - that's what sufficient sleep will do! I was also only out of bed twice last night and I see a future in which we are all sleeping through the night. Katie personalized the plan for our situation and I think, given a few more days, the results will continue to get even better. My husband and I are amazed and so thankful.
