Cesarean and Breastfeeding...

I am 37 weeks pregnant and my daughter is breech. Yesterday my doctor attempted to turn her by ECV, but she wouldn't move. So, now we're looking at the prospect of a cesarean birth. I am coming to terms with this now. I am concerned about the immediate bonding that I will be missing out on. I would like to ask other moms who have had cesarean births - how soon after birth were you permitted to breastfeed? Further, were you able to have your baby placed on your chest directly after birth?

Lasik While Nursing or Pregnant

Hi Moms! I have a question. I have been wanting to get lasik for a long time now, but was pregnant in 2006 and nursing since she was born in June. I know I know, she is about to turn 2 but we still nurse when she is tired, or gets hurt. The lasik center wont schedule my appointment until I have stopped nursing for 6 weeks. So the question is, Has anyone gotten their lasik done, still nursing, or been preggo and not known it? The argument is that the hormones you have while nursing makes your vision unstable.-But the fact that I have a...

Epi-pen Jr. in an Airport (And Some Liquid Questions)

My 19 month old son has a food allergy and we must carry an epi-pen jr. around with us at all times. Is there any special consideration we have to take when traveling by plane? I can see security claiming that it is a weapon or something like that since there is a needle, but at the same time, it is a rescue medication that is required to be with my son at all times. Also, because my son's food allergy, he usually cannot eat food out. I will be packing him some of his favorites since we will be traveling for breakfast and lunch. Is...

Questions About Labor and Breastfeeding

Hi Moms, We are thinking about having another baby. Actually my first pregnancy and delivery because we adopted our only child who is now 2 1/2 when she was just delivered. I am excited about possibly being pregnant and experiencing it for myself but I'm also scared and concerned about the labor/delivery. I just want to get as much info as I can to be as prepared as possible and then work on being flexible if things don't go the way I planned as I know can happen. I have a shunt in the lumbar region of my spine to drain pressure from...

Sad About Ending Breastfeeding.

Hi - I had to abruptly stop breastfeeding my 6 1/2 month old due to issues with food allergies, reflux and overall fussiness. I was not ready to make this transition and I'm having a really hard time dealing with it. It was only 5 days ago that I stopped, but I just can't accept that this precious time between me and my baby is gone. He may be my last little guy and the idea that this is all over deeply saddens me. Anyone else go thru this?
