Constipated 4 Month Old

My girlfriend's son is 4 months old and is breastfed. He has been severely constipated for most of his life. The doctor told her to give him 2 oz. of water every day and also to cover a thermometer with vaseline and give him an enema. I wanted to climb on here and ask our fellow mommies what they have done for their little ones in similar situations. Any advice, i'm not sure who I feel more sorry for, mommy or baby! ps....she tried giving him corn syrup mixed with breastmilk, which seemed to work for a couple of days, then the doc...

Hi! I have a 2 year old who has been had trouble with constipation since I stopped nursing at 11 months. Since then, we have given her a small glass of prune juice daily. That has worked for the most part up until a month ago. Since then, she has been more constipated on and off. 14 Month Old Will Not Drink Regular Milk

I've had to stop breastfeeding due to meds that I have to take. My daughter refuses to drink regular milk. Her doctor suggested diluting the milk with water. I've tried this and still no luck. She only likes to drink apple juice. She also gets the runs which I'm almost sure is from the milk. I offer her the milk in bottle and sippie cup and she just doesn't want it. Anyone know how to introduce it differently please help.
