What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

Help with Eczema

My 6 month old was just diagnosed with eczema and I am trying to get his breakouts under control. The doctors are not so helpful on what is causing it (basically saying it could be anything). At this point my poor son is covered in the rash and can't sleep because his normal self soothing method is rubbing his face with a snuggly and his face is raw. Have any of you dealt with this? Do you have any tips other than hydrocortisone on how to sooth my poor baby?

Baby's Poo Burned Her Bottom :(

My 15month old daughter had a poo that burned her bottom so badly there are even 2 small spots where the skin is a little broken from blistering. Has anyone experienced this? There were no new or acidic foods and she's not sick, I'm not sure what could have caused it. It happened late yesterday afternoon at daycare, and when I got her home to bathe her she couldn't even sit in the water and cried from pain, it was awful. I put lots of diaper cream for the night and this morning it was better, it also seemed to be healing throughout the day....

Acid Mantle (Cream Mixed with Hydrocortisone) - Is It Safe?

I have a 15 month old son who has extremely sensitive skin and had horrible ezcema (sp?) since he was an infant. We found out that it was mostly caused by an allergy to pet dander so we had to give up our pug. Well, we have been using a prescription cream on him called A-Mantle since he was about 6 months old that our Pediatric Allergist prescribed (who is associated with CHOP). This cream is a hydrocortisone mixed with some other type of cream. We use it on him practically every single day (since he still has ezcema). I specifically...

Hemorrhoids and Constipation at 9 Weeks!

Hello Ladies, I am 9 weeks pregnant and having issues with hemorrhoids and constipation. My doctor told me to use Tucks and an over the counter hemorrhoid cream but it doesn't seem to be helping. I've also been eating a ton of fiber, fruit, etc. and I'm still having constipation. Does anyone know of any other options to get relief from the hemorrhoids or constipation being so newly pregnant? Thanks again!

Diaper Rash with Diarrhea

My 13 month old daughter has her 1st diaper rash, which is bright red and seems to have small opening in her skin. It is mostly on the buttock area right below her genitals. It started 3 days ago along with Diarrhea (also her 1st time having diarrhea). I think it is starting to hurt her because about 50% of the time when I am wiping her she starts crying and screaming. I am using Desitine and almost through a new tube in the last 3 days. I am putting it on really thick and covering the entire red area. I am also letting her skin air...

8 Month Old Spit Up

Has anyone else had a baby with a milk allergy? This is totally based off of internet research (I know - totally not reliable all the time) but it's the weekend and I'm at my breaking point! My little guy spits up 3 or 4 times after each feeding and in puddles each time (not just a little drool out the side of his mouth). He's had a red/bumpy rash all over his face for two months (we were told to use hydrocortizone cream and vaseline - neither of which have made it go away) and now a diaper rash that he's had for a few days now that is not...

Toddler's Urine Irritates His Skin

My 2-year old son has been trying out the potty. Usually he sits on it every night before bed (in addition to other times). The last few nights, he has peed while on the potty and some of his urine has ended up on the toilet seat (one that sits on top of the regular toilet seat). Within seconds he starts crying and scratching at his butt and genitals. I can tell it is irritating his skin and it makes him clench up his muscles and collapse. Tonight, he scratched so hard it made him bleed. We have given him Benadryl and put...
