Teenager Disrespectful to Me

My 14 year old daughter is very disrespectful to me and not understanding why. Don't know if disrespectful is the word I am looking for however she just doesn't want to listen to me and says I am unfair. I know that I am doing to right thing and certainly am not unfair but why do I feel so bad? She got bad grades on report card so I punished her from staying at friends house; standing my ground and not giving in - that makes me unfair? I feel so bad when I see the love with other daughters and their parents. Is anyone else having this...

23 Month Old Who Does Not Talk.........

I have a 23 month old and she is the youngest of 3 girls. Maybe I am just trying to compare her to the other two girls (which I know I should not do). She is not talking at all! It is starting to worry me. I mean she just does the babbling talk "baby talk". We do not talk to her like that we talk like we talk to the other girls. I try to tell the other girls not to talk for her let her try to tell mommy and daddy what she is wanting even if she will point (which she does sometimes). She was introduced to the potty chair at the age of 14ish...

What to Do About the Bully

My daughter has had a problem with a certain girl at school for 2 years now. They are both in 2nd grade. I have talked to the principle about the issues and thought it had been resolved but the little girl keeps seeking my daughter out to make fun of her clothes, hair, shoes etc... The problem is is that the little girls mom is an employee at the school. The little girl was suppose to get detention but that some how slipped through the cracks and she never did serve it and she knows it. She tells my daughter that all her mom has to do is...

13 Month Old Is Only 19 Pounds

today we went to Braydens dr appt.. a well check.. well, when she put him on the scale and it said "18" pounds, she wasnt suprised, but inside i was like, What the? then when she came back with a different scale, i figured she WAS alarmed, but hadnt shown it. so on the digital scale he was 19 pounds. my son has been breastfed since birth, and he still nurses occasionally during the day, usually when he wants to go to sleep. i would say im more of a human pacifier than a food source. lol. however he does eat other things...gerber...

I'm Jealous of Daddy!

I'm starting to feel jealous of my husband's relationship with our two and a half year old son. I stay home to work for my husband (which some days I resent also), so I get to keep our son home with me. All day we do what he wants when he wants, eat what he wants, drink what he wants . . . within reason, of course, there are still rules. But I feel like I give this child everything I have to offer and he prefers Daddy to me 9 times out of 10. That really hurts my feelings. And I'm starting to think about other times when it seems like...

It is not a habit right now which I am setting the rule down before it is not a testing stage anymore. Thanks

Cell Phone Texting

Would like to hear from mom's with 12 year olds. She's an awesome kid trying to fit in with her peers! Are there any parents out there that don't allow texting at this age? Am I the only one (according to my 12 year old :-))? Should I just block it? It's mostly other children that don't respect it, but we end up paying for each one. I refuse to get "unlimited texting", that seems to give the child the wrong message. What are your ideas?
