Where Are Halloween Events?

I have a toddler and would like to know of Halloween events this week and Halloween night if there are any. We are in Seabrook right now but are moving to Dickinson so either of the places would be fine.Thanks.

Birthday Present for My Soon to Be 11Yr Old (B-day Oct 4Th)

Ok, I know I'm cuttin it close, but that's usually what I do. I have no clue what to get my son for his birthday. I don't have a lot to spend and he is at that point where he doesn't really "play" with toys. Things he's asked for....a PSP (yeah right), a pocket rocket motorcycle (I'm thinking not), Heelys (maybe, but $80 for a pair of shoes with wheels?), and I think that's all he's suggested. HELP, other than some different games I haven't come up with anything.

Holiday Visits with Family

I would like to get some advice on what we should do. How do you divide up time between parents and in-laws as far as holiday visits? Ever since my brother got married, he and his wife always go to her family's house first for each holiday and come to our mom's house late in the evening. Then they will only stay for a little while and leave. They spend all day at her family's house. This is beginning to get to my mom and the rest of us as we feel we get the short end. We have learned that this is what is going to happen again this year...

To Go to He Wedding or Not!

Ok, so one of my close friends daughter is getting married in Oct. We have been friends all through high school. The problem lies in the fact that we have our family (cousins and all) Halloween camping weekend that same weekend. It is a super fun weekend with pumpkin rolling contest, trick-or-treating from camp site to camp site (we also decorate ours for the contest which takes at least a month to put everything together, with the help from all the family members), and many other activities that are set up around the camp grounds. I'd...

Prom Fundraising...Is This SOP?

I got an email from a mom (friend of mine) stating that her son (a senior) was trying to sell these "lottery" tickets (a deal every day for the Month of May, so 31 chances of winning from one ticket purchase). The cost is $10 per ticket and it is to reduce the cost of prom tickets from $200 each by subtracting what they sell from the price of the ticket(s). Is this normal? Standard Operating Procedure now for prom? (I'm not questioning the validity of the sale, just the fundraising part.) If you have a kid going to prom--did they do...
