Looking for Advice on Infant Skincare

My 5 month old daughter is very chubby and has very red, chaffed skin on the back of her knees. I'm sure it's because her legs are so chubby, but I can't find anything that helps it. I've tried Aquaphor, Vaseline, A&D, baby oil - nothing works. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!!

The Beauty Experiment - Would You Do This?

There was a woman today on Good Morning America that went one year without wearing makeup. She wanted to find out "what a man would do" - deodorant, MAYBE some gel, no jewlery, etc. and found that she loved it. but "society" didn't handle it too well. I can go either way - I don't wear a ton of make-up - mascara nor foundation. I MIGHT wear eye shadow when I meet candidates, but overall, I use the KISS (Keep It Simple Silly) method. The segment found that women spend up to $15K for beauty treatments during the year...ouch...that's a...

Best Eczema Treatment

My son has always had bad skin. He's 20 months now and has a large circle on his left cheek that has really bad eczema (nothing anywhere else). We've been through the standard line up (Aloe, Aveeno, prescriptions, etc) and nothing seems to work. I'm waiting for the dr to call me back and hopefully prescribe a new medication but has anyone had any luck with any over the counter creams / lotions?

Super Dry Skin During Pregnancy - Cocoa Butter? Coconut Oil? Anything Richer?

HI Moms: I'm 6 months pregnant with baby #2, and although cocoa butter seemed to make my belly happy for pregnancy #1, it doesn't seem to be doing the job anymore. My skin is literally peeling off and getting scaly in patches! Happily, no stretch marks on the belly, but is this the precursor? I've heard that coconut oil is supposed to be even better from my friends who are devotees of Whole Foods, but would love any advice on how not to become a molting snake!

My DD of 5 1/2 months has a relly bad rash that seems to be painful when she goes number 1 or number 2. I have been using Aveeno and that has worked well in the past but doesn't seem to be working this time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Natural Remedies for Red, Itchy Rash

My 21 month old boy has this large red rash on his bum/lower back. It started out small and didn't bother him and it was getting better but just this morning I got him out of bed and it is much worse and he is itching it now. The red areas are slightly raised and some areas are peeling. We are letting him run around with out his diaper as much as possible and we use Seventh Generation diapers so I know it isn't a sensitivity to his diaper. So, far we have just been using Earth's Best diaper rash onitment. I am wondering if any one has...

Chicken Pox and Medication

Hi! Today my daughter broke out with what we believe to be the chicken pox. We are all fine with it and consider it part of growing up. I brought her to the dr this evening, just to make sure I wasn't misdiagnosing. He believes they are chicken pox, and wants to put her on a medication to help minimize the effects. From the little research I have done, the recommendations for the meds are more for older people, or people with weakened immune systems. She is a healthy little 5 year old. I guess my question is...did you use...

Facial Skin Problems

Hello ladies, I am at the end of my rope trying to fix my skin problem. On my face I have 5 trouble spots. Two above my mouth to the left and right a bit and two below my mouth to the left and right a bit. The last one has just flared up a lot!!! It is under my left eye and is all red and puffy. They all started as dry skin and have become red and yucky with time. Sometimes they have dry flakes on them and sometimes not. Sometimes they do get better too. I have started washing my face once a day (with Neutrogena pore refining cleanser) ...

Doc Says to Start Rice Cereal at 4 Mo

Hi moms, At my son's 4 month check up appt this morning, the doctor recommended starting rice cereal. I'm just a bit weary of this and here is why.... Brayden was born 3 1/2 weeks early, and I have noticed in the last few months that he is slightly behind in his developmental milestones- Not anything to worry about as he catches up quickly. He is also in the low percentiles for growth, but again, I was told that he is within normal limits and that it takes a little time to "catch up" when they are preemies. ALSO, Brayden also has ezcemca...
