Adverse Reaction to Epi-pen Jr.

Hi moms, Last weekend, I fed my son whole wheat pasta, green peas, with homemade carbonara sauce (milk, egg, basil, parmesan cheese). All of these ingredients, he has had some way before, but never with carbonara sauce. Almost immediately, he began rubbing his eyes, getting the sauce all over his face and into his eyes, and he began swelling pretty intensely, but he was breathing fine. We went to urgent care, where they gave him benadryl orally, which he promptly vomited. Then, they gave him an epi-pen jr. shot. My son cried for a...

Epi Pen ????

My daughter is allergic to peanuts and we just went and picked up her epi pen and I noticed that it exp in may 2007. That just doesn't seem to be a very long shelf life for something that you hopefully will not need to use often. Of course if this is the norm that is fine but I feel like maybe the pharmacy just gave me an old one that they had on the shelf and if that is the case I am going back up there. So if someone could check theirs and let me know I would sooo appreciate it!

Refuses Medicine, Medical Treatment, Etc.

My son had surgery at 4 weeks and at 13 months. I had thought we had gotten over his fear of medicine and Doctors, but as of late, his behavior has me really worried. We tried to take him for an ultrasound last week, and he refused. I spent 20 minutes trying to get him up on the table, and while I got him up there a few times, he refused to let her put the jelly, etc. on him. Now tonight he refused to take allergy medicine when he was having a bad hive reaction. It is a new flavor, one I bought hoping to convince him to be more open to...

New Allergy: Itchy Hives!

I am going crazy! I have never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life, this is all new at 31. I have not started new foods/products or anything that we can figure out. Here is the short story: One day I had some itchy bumps on my legs and I thought it was razor burn or something well each day after that it progressed all the way up to a full blown allergic reaction where my face/hands/feet swelled and it was hard to breathe. Well I have been working w/ an allergist for several months and he tested me for the regular allergic prick...

Allergic Reaction to Flu Shot?

I work in a group home setting so I get my flu shot EVERY single year. I got mine for this year yesterday afternoon. I got the shot at 3pm and by about 4-4:30pm I had started to itch really bad. I went to the bathroom and lifted up my shirt and found splotchy patches of hives. It did not get worse during the night so I thought maybe it was from the new body wash I used Sunday night. Plus I had never had a reaction to the flu shot before so the thought just did not cross my mind. When I got off from work last night I took some Benadryl and...
