New Singulair Side Effects

Has anyone noticed subtle changes in their child while taking Singulair? My 11 year old has allergies and asthma and has been on Singulair (and other meds) for a long time on and off. I notice distict changes in mood, behavior and sleeping habits while on Singulair. I brought it up to our pediatrician several years ago and he brushed it off as being perfectly safe. I even brought it up to my son's allergist more recently and she was puzzled. Said it must be something else. Imagine my surprise when I've been seeing the news articles on...

Zyrtec & Breastfeeding

Hi. I'm a mom-to-be, and want to breastfeed when my baby is born. The problem is, I have chronic allergies, and have to take Zyrtec every day. It's the only thing that works for me. I've I don't take it, I get hives and my skin swells- it's not your typical runny eyes, sneazy type of allergies. Nurses, midwives and doctors have told me that Zyrtec will dry-up breast milk. I've asked them if there's an alternative. I really want to breastfeed, and want my baby to have all the benefits of being breastfed. I hope someone out there can help me....

Homeopathic Remedy for Allergies

Hi Moms, I have a 4 year old daughter that has chronic sinus infections. She has been sick since she was born with ear infections, viral infections and sinus infections. She has taken antibiotics since birth too. She has been tested for allergies and is allergic to pollen and other enviromental allergens. Her father is asthmatic and believes in western medicine and taking allergy medicines. Now my little one is allergic to antibiotics, namely the penicillian family of medicines. The only one that she can use is a strong one, Biaxin. ...

Your Opinions on Singulair

I have a 5 yr old daughter who gets a wicked cough a few times a year. This past trip to the ped he suggested we start her on 4 mg of Singulair. My husband is asthmatic and the ped feels that there is a possibility that she may be diagnosed later in life with asthma. She is considered at risk because she has had upper respiratory issues a few times this past winter. My question is that I've heard both good and bad about this medication and I am just concerned. Most of the issues involve behavioral outbursts and children becoming more...

Singulair for a 2 Year Old??

Hi Ladies! My daughter continues to get ear infections and the croup. She's recovering from her second round of this stuff. This has all happened in a matter of 4 months. She's got lots of food allergies, and the doctor seems to think that she must have environmental allergies as well and something she's allergic to keeps triggering her getting sick. Long story short...she just finished her cortisone for the croup, has about 5 days left on the antibiotics, and the doctor wants me to start her on Singulair through the end of fall to see if...

False Positive Pregnancy Test

I had what I thought was a miscarriage last fall and then the exact same thing seemed to happen this fall. I was late so I took a pregnancy test and it came up positive and then a few days later I would start bleeding. The first time my OB said it was probably just a miscarriage and no need to worry unless I had further problems so they did not run any test and just said to keep trying. This fall they did a vaginal ultrasound and blood work and said that there was no sac and my HGC levels were less than 5 so they determined that I was...
