Toilet Training--no Diapers at All or Underwear

My daughter is now 2 years and 4 months and seems interested in potty. She'll sit and pretend to go, but doesn't actually pee or poop. She will also practice using her teddy bears. Recently, she has not wanted to wear diapers at home and will take off her pants and diaper. However, I can't get her to wear underwear, so she'll just go naked. I was wondering what other moms have done--do you go diaper and everything free for a while until they actually use the potty or do you try to get them in underwear and acutal have them take it on...

Hello everyone! I am desperate for some advice or other opinions. I was inspired to write in from reading the request and responses to Chantel's question. My daughter is 18 months old. We have only fed her pureed foods since she has had problems swallowing (she would gag and throw up with new textures.) But, with the help of a speech therapist, she has made great progress. My daughter Sofia is 3 1/2 yrs.old and she is extremely resistant to even sitting on any kind of potty big small or otherwise. She screams like we are ripping her arms and legs off anytime we try to get her to sit on the potty. We started out encouraging her to sit on her own but it was pure novelty to her.
