Underweight 13 Month Old, I Did Have IUGR During Pregnancy.

I have a beautiful 13 month old baby girl. The only concern that I have is that she is very small in size for her age. She's only 13 and a half pounds. Height wise she's doing great, but it just makes her look even that much thinner. I was diagnosed with IUGR (interuterine growth restriction) during my pregnancy and was put on bed rest and saw a high risk doctor the last two months. She was born full term (38 wks buy trying to induce me although I still ended up with a c-section) at 4 lbs 12 oz. She's always been breastfed. She does...

First Time Mom- Baby Shower- What to Ask For.

Hello moms ! I am 5 months pregnant, and have no family here. I have had the same job for 4 years, and my supervisor at work is dead set on throwing me a baby shower. She wants me to make a list of people to invite and she wants me to fill out a registry. If I mention to her stuff I buy, IE I already bought a stroller, car seat duo thing..she gets upset and asks why am I buying things because I'm having a shower. Here's the deal- I'm one of those people that feel uncomfortable accepting high priced gifts, especially from people I'm not even...

Unplanned Pregnancy, with Little One Already in the House!

Help! My husband and I married later in life and had our daughter a year ago on Christmas. I just found out that I am pregnant again, and it was very unplanned. Our home is pretty small and the baby will have to share a room with his/her sister. Any suggestions on how to keep it from waking up our toddler? Also, I am really having a tough time getting excited or being happy about this one, any suggestions there?

Help with Weaning (Milk Allergy)

I have a 13 month old daughter who has a milk allergy. She is exclusively breastfed, and never took the bottle (no matter how many times we tried). She does take water out of a cup with a straw. I'd like to wean her. We're limited on formula's due to her milk allergy. We've tried soy formula, peptamen junior (had allergic reaction) and now elecare. She's okay with taking a sip here and there(either a sigg water bottle or a nuby bottle with handles) , but will not drink enough for me to wean her. I don't know what the problem is -...

Pregnancy Nursing and Weaning

I have a 13 month old son who nurses before naps and bedtime and often wakes a night and wants to nurse. I am 11 weeks pregnant with baby #2, and my midwife suggested that by 20 weeks nursing and being pregnant will be h*** o* me, and I may want to consider weaning my son. I have all ready been thinking about 100% weaning and attempting night weaning, but am having a hard time following through with not nursing him at night (it is the fastest way to get him back to sleep and I have been SO TIRED), and don't really know how and when...

Tips for Weaning off Breastfeeding Quickly

You are always so helpful with my little requests - so I thought I'd turn to you again. This is a big one. My daughter will be one on Sunday (can't believe how fast it went) and I was planning on gradually weaning her onto milk after her birthday. Here comes the big part - on Monday I was SURPRISED to learn that I am almost 7 weeks pregnant! Now I have heard of people nursing during their pregnancy, so I was wondering if this is really okay for everyone involved?? However, I also learned that this is a high risk pregnancy. I've been...
