Where Should My Son Sleep?

My son is 10 mos old and currently shares a bed with me. My husband says he should be sleeping in his crib by himself. my son naps in his crib, and is capable of putting himself to sleep. This isn't affecting my husband at all, he sleeps in a seperate bed because of our schedule differences. I feel that my son will be grown soon enough and the only time we get to cuddle is when we go to sleep at night. i don't plan on him sleeping with me forever, and don't understand why my husband is so sure this is bad for him. Is it wrong or unhealthy...

Need Suggestions for Monitor to Cover Two Separate Nurseries.

I have a 20 month old with twins on the way in the next two weeks or so (I know... life is about to get REALLY exciting!). We have the Sony Babycall monitor for our daughter's room and love it but are now looking for a new monitor that might scan between her room and the twins' room across the hall. I don't want one with two channels that I have to flip between manually but rather would like something that does it automatically. A friend of mine used to have one that scanned three different rooms, but apparently it's no longer made. The...

Co-sleeping Thoughts - Older Children

I was reading some requests and answers, and most of the requests and answers are Husband & Wife, with babies that co-sleep together. I am a single mom, i have been a single mom for well 7 years, my son is 8. During the school week, i will put him in his bed, and he sleeps most nights by himself (but sometimes I will wake up to him crawling into bed with me) on the weekend, he crawls in bed with me, regardless. Its always been, he wakes up in the middle of the night and crawls into bed with me, well he used to cry for me, but as he got...

Seeking Nap Mat

Hi moms, Does anyone know of a place in Houston where I can buy a nap mat? It seems that Target and Wal-Mart only carry them just before school starts. I've seen some online stores that sell nap mats for $80+, but I definitely don't want to spend that much! Thanks!

Help! New Mom to Be Looking for Advice.

I'm looking for any advice and recommendations from all of you moms out there. This is our first child and I'm not sure which items I should buy or avoid. I'd particulary like info on: Bottles & Breastpumps I plan on trying to breastfeed and pump, since I will be returning to work. I know I was a baby who was prone to colic, so I want to make sure I get some good bottles that help to limit this. Strollers & Carseats I've been eyeballing the Graco Quattro travel system. I have a big SUV, so getting the stroller in and out of the...

Munchkin Fresh Food Teether

Hello, my little boy just turned 7 months old. I received a two pk. of the Munchking mesh fresh food teethers for my shower and have still yet to use them. My baby is eating stage 2 foods three x's/day and loves it! He is also heavily teething right now. I am not sure what to put in this thing. I have heard strawberries, but not sure of what else. I also heard of putting meat in them? Ew..what kind? Do your babies like this product? Thanks!

1 1/2 Year Old Refuses to Give up Bottle

I have a stubborn strong willed independant 1 1/2 y.o. who refuses to give up her bottle. I have pretty much gotten it down to only a bottle at nap times and bed time. The thing is she will drink water and juice from her sippy cup, but if I put milk in it she will throw and refuse to drink. To add to that she will not drink her milk cold it was to be warmed just a little bit. I have tried having her throw her bottles away and telling her she's a big girl. But then she just wont drink any milk and I can't have that she still needs all the...

Trouble Sleeping at Night

Hi All, I just started 5th month of pregnancy (this is my first pregnancy), and I am having difficulty sleeping at night. The issue is I feel that my ribs and my hips hurt a lot when I sleep on the side. I don't sleep on by back because everyone has been telling me not to sleep on my back. I have always been a side sleeper anyways, but these last weeks have been horrible. I wake up every two hours or so and I must turn on my other side because I feel that I am in pain, like I am been squeezed hard! I thought that maybe was the bed,...

Please Help Me Calm Down

I was hoping to wait until around 3 or 4 to get my son the chickenpox vaccine and now it's apparently going around my area according to SickWeather app. Of course they don't offer details but we've been shopping a lot. Can my son get the virus from shopping or walking by someone that might not know they have it yet? Does it live on surfaces for a long time? The alert came for one town yesterday and for the neighboring town today. Both small towns. My sister is a kindergarten teacher in one of these towns and I'm worried sick. Can she pass...

Getting Two Year Old to Stay in Bed at Night.

I am having a really hard time trying to get my two year old to stay in bed at night. My husband and I have him in a twin bed because I have a baby that is using the crib. At first he really loved the bed and slept great. But recently he has started playing this game (he thinks it is a game anyway I really am not liking it) where he gets out of bed every time he is put in. We have tried everything we can think of like putting him back in bed every time that he gets out with out talking to him, etc. He then will scream then waking up...
