Weaning off Bedtime Bottle

Hello, We have a 1 year old little girl. She is off the bottle except at night. She gets a bottle during our bedtime routine. Lately, it's turned into a game for her. She plays with the nipple, drinks, cries, drinks again, plays with the cap, hits me, fingers in my nose, etc. She is tired. We put her in her crib (wide awake), she rolls to her side and goes to sleep all on her. It's getting more difficult. Our ped. said it's time to take that last bottle away. Can you guys please give me your tips on how to wean off the bottle?

Switching to Big Boy Nighttime Routine- Help!

My son has made all of his transitions with ease. He does not use a pacifier, he eats what everyone else eats, but he still takes a nightime bottle. It is more for comfort and routine than anything else. He gave up the bottle with no qualms. Can anyone suggest a great nightime routine that I can switch to now- before he gets too attached to the bottle to give it up? He is not really into sitting still for a story - so the whole reading before bed has not been too successful. He is 15 months old and pretty easy going. It is my laziness that...

Seeking Advice from Experienced moms:Co-sleeping to Crib for Hysterical 6 Mo Old

I have a 6 month old girl who has slept with me from day one (my husband works nights and cares for her during the day). We have a consistent bedtime routine, and I nurse her to sleep at night. The only bad thing is she still nurses 2-3 times per night, though it has been ok thus far because she'll sleep for 12 hours. After spending the first months worrying myself sick about her not being in a crib, I finally just decided to go with it and enjoy that time with her and deal with it when she was older and may understand better. Here's the...

Seeking Advice for Transitioning a 16Mos Out of Family Bed

I have a sweet and tenacious 16 month old boy who has shared our bed since he was born at home. He sometimes nurses once or twice (on a tough night, teething, etc)a night but ususally sleeps until 6 or 7 before he wakes and wants to nurse. We love sharing a bed together but, both his dad and I are tall ppl and he is following suit. Bottom line is that our king bed is getting too small for us all to fit comfortably and I think my son is waking sometimes just for that reason...not enough room. The other issue is that I have nursed him to...

Help! My 19 Month Old Still Takes a Bottle at Nap Time....

My 19 month old still takes a bottle at nap time. I have tried to give him a sippie cup but he refuses. My husband does not have this problem & our son takes a sippie cup from him at nap and bedtime. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like a failure as a mom because I can't get him to take a sippie cup. And to make matters worse, I am totally a sucker! :(

Need Ideas on Getting Toddler to Take Regular Sippy Cup

My son had a very hard time transferring from the bottle to a Nuby cup. We had to go cold turkey and suffer through it. Now, a year later, the Nuby cups are driving me crazy. He chews on the silicone spouts, and they break. I've been buying tons of them, and it's ridiculous to continue at this point. He won't drink out of any of the sippy cups I've bought, even the starter ones with softer spouts. ANY IDEAS? I'm thinking going cold turkey again may be my only option, but I don't know if I can stand his whining and complaining (he makes me...

Another Schedule Question, but Please Help! :)

Hi moms! So I'm back with another schedule question! Can u please post your 11 month old schedule? Feeding and nap times and snacks and how much formula/breastmilk they drink? Thanks a lot! I'm having a hard time figuring out a schedule for my DD. We were on a good one but then she start teething about a month ago and every thing changed! She wants to only take one nap some days and some days 2. She's not interested much in her formula. But she won't drink it out of a sippy cup! Aaahh I'm going crazy! Lol. Anyway, TIA! :)

Breastfeeding Babe Refuses Bottle

I have been breastfeeding my baby exclusivly since she was 2 weeks old. Now that she is 4 months old I would like to seperate from her for longer than 1 hour. I have tried many bottles with many different nipples. She refuses to take it, no matter who gives her the bottle. I have now tried a cup. She takes a few sips and then doesn't want it. I know she knows how to drink from it. She just doesn't want to. What do I do? Mommy needs a break! I forgot to mention that it is breastmilk in the bottle!

9 Mo Old Not Sleeping Through the Night

I have a 9 month old who still does not sleep through the night most days. He goes to bed at 8 and wakes around midnight or 2AM. We feed him and he falls back to sleep. I have tried CIO (30 minutes) and attempting to soothe without picking him up. I feel we are in a cycle and that he is conditioned to eat in the middle of the night. I’ve tried to feed him more during the day, giving him a bottle of H2O in his crib at night. He does take naps well during the day 2 (2.5 hours total) and falls asleep on his own. Any suggestions?

Sleep Problems for Still Nursing 15 Mo Old/ready to Wean, Tired Mom

I am working on trying to get my 15 month old son to sleep thru the night w/o my help. He doesn't have trouble going to sleep in his crib initially at night. The problem is in the middle of the night. He tends to wake around midnight and won't go back to sleep until he has nursed, then he continues to wake up every hour and a half or two hours after I put him down again unless I bring him to bed with me. The problem with him in my bed is neither of us sleep all that well even tho he prefers it. My goal is to wean him and have him sleep in...

Toddler Uses Bottle for Comfort & Won't Give It Up

My 22 month old DD is addicted to her bottle. Whenever she is nervous or upset, she demands it even if she had one 2 mins before and we know she is not hungry or thirsty. If we don't give it to her- she throws a fit of screaming that is literally out of control. My pedia saw it first hand today and even was a bit shocked at the level and length of her fits. Doc even said she doesn't recommend going cold turkey b/c she thinks it would be too traumatic for her. She is a very sensitive child. I am at my wits end....I don't think there is...
