Ok my question is about my 5 yr. old son he has bad allergies and it does get worse starting in october, he is already on flonase nose spray and singular, his ent suggest him doing allergy drops, we were going to do the shots but when she said they had drops instead I was ok with that, a couple issues on this I read that the FDA hasnt approved this yet, and then there is the cost, ok I spend about $100 a yr. on the flonase and about $255 a yr. on singular, these drops are not covered with insurance and so thats going to be about $60 every 6 weeks, I asked if he still needed to take the other stuff still and she said to keep him on the nose spray and to take the singular until the drops kick in, this alot of money spending and so I want to no has anybody done these drops before, oh and since I told them I would do it they mixed the drops already and well Im having 2nd thoughts on this and they said I still have to pay for it?

What can I do next?

maybe you should try a different dr. My daughter did the Nasonex nose spray, and it has worked well. Also, I hear that Zyrtec works well. Maybe he just needs a different prescription. I've heard that local honey or bee pollen helps with allergies too. My husband did it as a child and his allergies went away. Good luck.

My daughter is 6 and for years she has been on and off from singulair, flonaise, nasonex, all of them and nothing worked. We took her to a specialist and found out the reason behind the constant allergies and stuffy nose is enlarged adenoids and tonsils. She had to get them removed. Hopefully it does not get to that point with your son but it's something to keep in the back of your mind.

My 7 yr old son has had allergies since he was a baby and we finally got him test, which they used the scratch test and then he need to be tested with shots (39) to see how much he could take of each allergin. We decided on the shots over drops for 1 reason only he would every 3 months be tested over with the panel shots (39) to see how effective the drops were. I couldnt do that to him over and over again. I have heard only good things about the drops from others who have gone that route (most I have spoken with are adults). I can tell you that my son allergies have subsided somewhat in just the past few months that we have been doing this. He also take Singular every day so I know what you mean with the cost. I wish you luck with either way that you go. He has been a new kid this fall.

Cure him of allergies forever, don't just cover them up with meds. NAET is the way to go...look it up. DOn't know where you live but I have a dr here that does it and she is fabulous.

Run don't walk to Dr. Bruce West, Health alert- get this mess cleaned up,
and then to WestonPrice Foundation to handle diet, and any of the underlying causes for his problem-
very well done on having 2nd thoughts-
re read all the side effects of all the drugs-
and still not looking at the underlying cause
Dr. West and Weston Price will give you data on the underlying cause- and then it'll be fixed w/o drugging your son
best, k

I would spend my money on diet changes, vits, environmental changes, accupuncture and a chiro. Treat the underlying issues. Flonase has steriods in it. Not a good drug on a regular basis for anyone, especially a 5 y.o.

Hi G.,

Allergies are not necessary! The immune system can be improved and the allergies can go away. My entire family is proof! My allergies were so bad that I needed a warm, wet compress every morning just to get my eyes open to function. Now we have an inside dog.

Bodies are not meant to have reactions to natural things. Reactions to synthetic things are normal but if your immune system is strong enough, your body can even fight off the synthetic triggers as well. A complete detox of your home and an absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex is the start of healthty living.

Because of the pharmaceuticals(which are also synthetic chemicals) he's on, you may need to take it a step further and consult a principled, upper cervical chiropractor. You can go to www.upspine.com for a list in your area. If the doctor does not tell you chiropractic can help your immune system, then he does not truly understand the body.

Detoxing is simple and can be inexpensive and I can help if you need me to. I can also recommend a multivitamin if you'd like.

Regards,

M.

My son had a few years where his allergies were real bad. We did the singular, clartin, flonase, etc and nothing worked. A rep was in my peds office one day when I was there and she suggested Brovex CT, it worked the best and it is a chewable.
