Hi moms! I am looking for a good method of cleaning my kitchen floors, its that type of cement flooring, not tile, im not really sure what kind it is, but it is extremely hard to keep clean, and it gets black streeks that are hard to clean, has anyone every tried that HAHN steamer? I saw an infomercial the other day on it and it looked like it worked great. Can anyone tell me if its worth it. Thanks

What can I do next?

I don't know how much help this is - I have tile and I don't know what a HAHN steamer is, but I have a Shark Steam Mop that I LOVE. It is a little different and takes some getting used to but it is great. Over time it got up tar that my husband tracked in. I had tried EVERYTHING to get it up and finally gave up. After a couple weeks using the mop I noticed the stain was gone. Good luck!

I have stained concrete floors as well & I feel your pain on keeping them clean. I use a swiffer to sweep up the huge dust bunnies once a week. I also have a hand held dirt devil little vacuum that does a great job as well. I have been experimenting with different cleaning tools to find the fastest way to keep these darn floors clean! Trust me, it's a full time job & that's not cool because I already have a full time job!! The floors are beautiful don't get me wrong but you have to sweep at least once a week or it will get out of control. As for the black streaks, that's from someone's black soled shoes. If you rub your finger across the streak most of it will just rub off. You might have to put some elbow grease behind it though. I use a 'rag mop,' water & dish soap to mop when it needs it. You have to be really careful & read the labels when you buy cleaners to mop/clean with because you can't use anything to harsh. Anything with acetone with eat the stain off of the floors. And don't let your girls paint their nails on the floors because if they spill the polish you are screwed. My 15 yr old did that & made a mess! I could have killed her! We covered the spot with a throw rug. Teenagers, gotta love em! I told her she was only allowed to paint her nails in the garge from now on, lol!

I don't have concrete floors but I have tile and laminate floor and bought one of the Shark steam mops from Target. It works great on all the mud that the 3 dogs constantly bring in. My tile in the kitchen has grooves and is not a flat tile, and this mop seems to get all the dog gunk out of the tile. The only thing that I don't like about the steam mop is the size. I have a lot of floor to clean and the head is pretty small. There are a lot of opionions out on the web, but I think they all pretty much work the same way, most everyone is happy with whichever one they buy (the Bissell is another one that a lot of people like). The only thing I wish I had done different was to buy the Shark on the website, so I could have go the better deal with the extra pads and stuff, and the warranty. Good luck.

We have stained concrete as well, and I don't have any problems keeping it clean. We bought a Roomba vacuum, and have it programmed to clean every night at 10. When we wake up in the am, clean floors! We have a 16 month old, and 3 dogs. Trust me, Roomba works. Also, the black streaks are from shoes, just rub them off. I would recommend a Roomba, and then mopping the floor once a week with something like a Swiffer wet. Good luck!
