Hi moms!
Do you have any pediatricians that you would recommend for my 2-year old boy? He has a "cold" which sounds more to me like a bronquiolitis. He doesn't have nasal congestion, but a cough that sounds like a thunder every time that he coughs. This is his 3rd week sick and he's not getting any better but worse.
I recently moved from another country and I'm not too familiar with the doctors here.
Please advice.

Preferred Pediatrics in Libertyville. Wonderful, wonderful pediatricians. We have been using them since the birth of my daughter, who is now almost 5. I cannot say enough about how thorough, knowledgeable and kind the doctors in this practice are. They also have a location in Deerfield. Dr. Cheryl Donovan-Hunt is the doctor we use and we absolutely love her (so do my kids)!
Lake forest pediatrics,they are fantastic i highly reccommend dr terkildson he's wonderful,i've been with them since my son was born,they are based in lake forest,lindenhurst and also vernon hills.

Lake Forest Pediatrics has offices in Vernon Hills, Lake Forest and Lindenhurst. There are several doctors in this practice and they even have office hours on Saturdays and Sundays which comes in handy.

Lake Forest Pedaitrics are excellent, and take many insurances. They have an office in vernon hills and one of their facilities are open 365 days a year. Like you I am not originally from the USA, so do not be alarmed as they are very conservative in their approach but since this is your children I have not complaints.

Dr. George Elvove is a good pediatrician. He's in Libertyville at 1029 W. Park Avenue. 847/362-1367. He spends time listening, and respects parent's preferences on things like homebirth, vaccines, etc. Here's his website: http://www.elvovemd.com/home.htm I know people who drive miles to see him. One of his main nurses, Kathy, is great about answering questions on the phone. Very accommodating! We've used him for my son over 4 years.
We've been taking our daughter to Lake Forest Pediatrics because she was adopted from Guatemala last year, and one of the doctors there (Dr. Ashley) has several adopted children from there. The doctors are good, but if you like seeing the same doctor alot, you need to plan ahead. It's rare that I can see Ashley or Tirkleson without MUCH advance planning.

We go to Assoicated Pediatrics in Lincolnshire off of Milwaukee Ave. and love it. It's not to far from Vernon Hills. We see Dr. Radius but there are several other great doctors in that office also. They also offer sick hours early in the morning during the week and on Sunday mornings plus have regular Saturday hours which is nice if you work.
i live in vernon hills and i take my 3 yr old to Lake Forest Pediatrics. They have an office in Vernon Hills, also at the Lake Forest Hospital and one in Lindenhurst. They're staffed with five excellent pediatricians, wonderful nurses and efficient reception. They have sick hour Monday thru Friday from 8am-9am. They're open Saturdays. Sundays for emergencies only. I would request an appointment with either Dr. Marilyn Zwirn or Dr. Cheryl Donovan-Hunt
