If you have an ultrasound, ask for three copies (one for you and one for each Grandma). Mail or give each of them a "Congratulations" card with the ultrasound image.
We're looking for creative ways to tell our moms that we're pregnant...we probably won't see them at the same time...one is in a wheelchair and it will be her first grandchild, the other has one other grandchild (but this is our first)....help....please?
My mom flies out a lot for work and was going on a trip at the end of Feb., so I used her flight itinerary and manipulated it to have the details of the hospital we'll be delivering at and the due date, etc. She loved it...she got it right away because she thought I might be...for my MIL, who orders stuff from QVC all of the time, we made up a fake QVC Backorder item list and did something similar...in the item details we wrote "10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose and 1 mouth - comes in 2 varieties - order has been customized" and we listed their return policy and underneath that I wrote "Customized orders do not fall under this return policy"...she didn't get it - we had to tell her what it was, and then she liked it.

For the first-time Grandma that's in the wheelchair, I'd do one of two things:
1. get one of those car safety signs that says 'Baby On Board' or
2. get her a shirt that says something like 'Hot Rod Grandma'.
For the other grandma, I would wait to tell her on Valentine's Day, and then get a Valentine's Day card from the baby to Grandma.
I've been pregnant 3 times.
The first time, we told the families that we had decided that it was time to move closer to the family. Why? For the free babysitting!
The second time, we happened to be doing some work on our house, and there was a debate on which project to take on next, so when them came over for dinner one night, we said, 'we've finally decided on what project to take on next, we're adding on...' To the House? (confused looks) 'No! To the family!!! :-)'
The third time, the 3m mark was the same week as a family party. I took a pic of the sonogram, and pasted into a card that said 'Wanna Know a Secret??'. Then I placed the card on the refrigerator, it was the only thing on that side of the fridge front. Then I kept asking family members to get stuff for me out of the fridge. It was great!!
Good luck and congrats!

I bought little candy tins online and they had a stork on them and the top of the tin said: Lisa and David did it again. They are expecting in 2010!
The little candies were shaped liked pacifiers.

Send them (or give them) Vday cards or a gift box full of pink and blue confetti and at the bottom put a copy of your sonogram in it! Or you could use a congrats card too but I just thought the Vday (since its coming up) idea would be cute! =) Good Luck and Congrats!
Send or give them "Save the Date" cards, with the due date on it. Do them really pretty and then wait for them to ask why they are saving the date. Or if you are able to see them, cook them a special dinner, baby carrots, baby chicken (cornish game hens look like mini chickens) etc, and then ask them to guess the theme.
Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!
I don't remember what the cards actually said, but my sister took a picture of her positive home pregnancy test, printed several copies, and then put them inside cards to hand out to all the grandparents and great grandparents. It was cute!
I didn't get the option to do anything cute to announce my pregnancy. Mom took one look at me and asked if I was pregnant! LOL
Hallmark sells a really cute picture frame that's silver and inscribed with "The best Moms get promoted to Grandma" I got this for my mom and she loves it. I wanted to send it to her with the ultrasound picture (she lives 5 hrs away) but I ended up telling her on the phone because I couldn't wait!!!
What about having a shirt or something else made up that says #1 Grandma and wrapping and giving it to each of them. Can you just picture the look on their faces when they open their gift????
I made a t-shirt for my then 3 year old son to wear invited my mom over and didn't tell her right away but waited for her to notice my son's shirt and she was so happy and excited then we took his picture and mailed one to each of our family members to let them in on the great news!
We bought those picture frames that say like world's best grandma, or #1 Grandma, or whatever, and in the frame put a note that said "Picture to come January 2007" My MIL Loved it! She kept the note behind the picture. :-)
It was close to Christmas when I found out I was pregnant with our last child so we wrapped up baby booties and gave them to my mom. It's getting close to Valentines day so you could put them under the lid in a box of chocolates or something like that. Just a thought.
Both my husband and my mom had birthdays right about the same time we found out we were expecting. We have them bibs that said "I love Grandma" and (I think- it's been a while) little critter books like Me and My Grandma.
With our second I bought my daughter a book "The Best Big Sister Ever" We went over to our parents house and she showed them the book. You could do something similiar but with a Grandma book. Have fun with it and Congrats!
We found out days before Christmas, so ordering anything was out, but we wanted to tell them then. Last minute, I got a pregnancy test box and circled pregnant and wrapped it up. It was pretty funny, because it took my mom forever to catch on. She said she was too old for that and I told her just to read the box! lol
