Anyone from this area? We're going on a "scouting" trip next week to check it out. It's much closer to my family in Orlando, not to mention the beach and the mountains! We need suggestions on areas to cruise around and areas to avoid. We've lived the last 10 yrs in Lewisville/Highland Village/Flower Mound and are very at home here. We'd love to find a similar, if not a bit more "rural" area in Raleigh. Any information, good/bad/neutral would be greatly appreciated.

I have a friend who moved to Apex several years ago. It is beautiful!! I would highly recommend you look in that area. I think it is in the Research Triangle.
When I visited I loved the feel of the community. We could walk from her home to the downtown area that had cool shops/cafes. It was a great place for families. She has a neighborhood playgroup and everyone is so nice.

We moved from outside Raleight about 2 years ago. I highly recommend Apex or Cary. They are suburbs or NC. It's extremely family friendly. There newer side of Apex, around 55 & Olive Chapel is where we lived. Cary is a little more pricey...sort of like Highland Village compared to Lewisville. Not much of a difference but a difference just the same. I have recommendations on a great chiropractor, doctor and OB/GYN that I just loved as well as an awesome church. I wish I had some answers for you, but I actually have more questions. We are moving from Indiana to the Lewisville/Highland Village/Flower Mound area. We found a home in Highland Village that we are really interested in. Any pointers regarding the area? We don't know anyone and are starting from scratch. Do you have any referrals? Family Dr, Pediatrician, OBGYN, Christian Church, fun stuff for the kids and me too, etc?
