Hello, my family has just moved from California to the area and I am looking for an ENT doctor for my daughter. Before we moved, we were discussing with the her ENT doctor the removal of her enlarged tonsils and adnoids. She has sleeping issues as well as had strep throat in the past. My husband and I were on the fence whether or not to do the surgery, but she continues to have problems sleeping. So, we are going to go ahead with the surgery. We live in the Flower Mound/Southlake/Lewisville area but I will travel anywhere to go to a highly recommended doctor.

What can I do next?

Hi V. - I recommend Dr. Michael Biavati. He is in Dallas on Walnut Hill Lane close to Presby hospital. I, too, live in the Lewisville/Highland Village area, however, he came highly recommended from my pediatrician (whom I LOVE) and he is great. My daughter had so many ear infections when she was two - Dr. Mike put in tubes for us. His number in case you'd like to call him is ###-###-#### - he is at Pediatric ENT Associates. Let me know if you have any questions!

Good luck!

P.S. From where in California did you move? We moved here from Huntington Beach, CA back in 1995. We love it here!

My daughter had tubes put in her ears when she was 2 by Dr. Robert Burkett. He's in downtown Ft. Worth and he and his staff are great.

Dr. Alan Murray in Coppell at ENT for Children

My brother used him for his son's tubes in ears. We are using him for both of my kids' tonsillectomies. My brother highly recommends him as well as my pediatrician.

We love the docs at www.entforchildren.net. They have a Dallas office and Coppell office. Dr. Murray did my son's adenoidectomy in December. The docs are great and the Plano Pediatric Surgery Center was great too.

WOW That sounds like us!! Our eight year old has the same problems, hers are comming out Monday. We live in Flower Mound and I was reffered to Micheal Bryan in Southlake, I consulted with three others, and liked him the best!! ###-###-#### Her surgery is at Harris Methodist in Southlake across from Town Square. We have been through alot with her and her tonsils. Sleep test, Alergist, tested for ADD, dyslexia, and finally came to the conclusion that its her tonsils and lack of sleep. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. Good Luck

I'll second Gonzales in S'lake. My youngest screamed evertime she saw Baylor G'vine, just in anticipation of getting her ears checked. Dr. Gonzales was so quiet & gentle & had her wrapped around his finger in seconds...got her believing Winnie the Pooh & the whole 100 acres gang was in her ears & sinuses. Did the trick though, no more screaming at the sight of Baylor. He did her tubes & all was well...

Good luck & welcome to Texas!

Glad to see another fellow Californian in the area. We've been here since '98 and we've grown to love it. We took our 2 y.o. twins to an ENT at Grapevine Baylor. I don't recall her name (mommy brain) but I know she is on the 3rd floor in the adjoining building. I can get her name if you like.

Welcome and good luck with the search!

BTW, we're from HB where are you from?

Hi there! I can understand how scary it is thinking about putting your child through surgery, but you have to really sit down and weigh your options. My son had been on antibiotics 15 out of 18 months of his early life. We put the tubes in and he hasn't had another ear infection since. He's eight now! The ENT doctor we used is Dr.L.C. Strange at Cook Children's in Fort Worth. I have referred several people to him and he has been wonderful to everyone. I hope you find some kind of help for your daughter, no matter what it is!

I read the responses - Dr Bauer is our ENT for our 4 yr old twin boyz (both have down syndrome) - and Dr Bryan is our ENT for my 8 yr old girl - different referrals from different pediatricians, we've been happy with both. : )

Dr Paul Bauer in Coppell is great as well. He is in the same office as Dr Alan Murray. We really like Dr Bauer. He put tubes in my daughters' ears last year. Her surgery was at a pediatric surgery center in North Richland Hills which we also realy liked. The pediatrician we go to is amazing, and she only recommends Bauer and Murray.
