Joint Party for Boys 15 Years Apart

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions on how to do a joint party. I have 2 sons who share the same exact birthday but are 15 years apart. My oldest will be 16 and the baby will of course be one. Just not sure how to go about it. We really can't afford to do two parties. My oldest doesn't mind having a joint party and said the theme is not big deal.

Invited to B-day Party for 4 Kids

Hi! We were invited to a birthday party for 4 siblings ranging from 13-8 years old. I only know 2 of the children (they were in my Sunday School class), and my daughter said the youngest is in her class as well. As a mother of 4 myself, with private school costs for all 4, and out of pocket college tuition for me- I don't want to seem 'cheap' but must maintain a reasonable budget in life- and yes, that includes shopping for gifts. Should I do gift cards for 2 children? All 4? How much? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Weaning a 14 Month Old

My oldest son, now 5, weaned himself at 14 months. His baby brother, however, does not seemed inclined to stop nursing on his own. He only really nurses 3 times a day, but he often wants to latch on just for comfort. He already uses sippy cups for juice and water, but he is allergic to milk so I don't know what I should try to give him instead. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Is It Telling Lies or Make Believe?

My eight year old daughter is still into fairytales. She still believes in the tooth fairy and since Christ's Day is approaching, her Santa questions are on the rise. I am getting to the point I don't want to keep telling her make believe stories or lies to keep her in awe. I admit that the questions are pretty unique and interesting but I have to reply back with something quick and meaningful for her. The latest question she's asked, "Depending on where we spend Christmas, how will Santa come into our house or dad's house if neither house...

Need Help Finding a Good Crib

Hello. I'm trying to find a good quality convertible (either 3-in-1 or 4-in-1) crib that cost less than $300.00. Any ideas? My husband likes the Simplicity Ellis at Target for $249 but I'm not too sure about Simplicity since they had so many recalls this year.

Kumon Learning Centers

Hi all, I am thinking of enrolling my daughter in the Kumon Learning Center (much like Sylvan). She is having a difficult time in reading and math this year. I thought it might be able to give her that boost of confidence in herself and her learning. She is 6.5 yrs old. Was wondering if any of you have had experience with the centers or ones like them? Thanks!!

We had orientation last night and didn't get suggestions, just what not to bring, which included anything with nuts, anything too sweet, raisins, hotdogs, popcorn, hard candy, etc...I need ideas for healthy snacks, help! Need Help Answering One of "Those" Questions to 4 Year Old

My son recently asked me how he came out of my belly? I said we went to the Dr and he helped take you out. Then he asked if the Dr. cut him out of my tummy. The answer would have been very simple had I had a c-section. I always try to be honest with my kids. But, with this question, I am struggling with an answer that's appropriate for a 4 year old boy. The correct answer in my opinion is way TMI for a 4YO boy. Any advice?
