Bedtime a Fight with 2 1/2 Yrs.

It seems to be getting worse…..we have been working on getting her to bed earlier for the past 3 or 4 weeks (after reading for my younger son sleep needs, hours needed, sleep schedules etc.) we start at 8ish but she still fights it until finally 10pm she falls asleep. I have created a routine of PJ’s, 2 books and prayers to prep her for bed but she gets up several times before finally staying down and going to sleep. You would think that going to sleep at 10pm would make her sleep later but still, 8AM she is up. My concern is not...

Breastfeeding Problems with Teething Baby

My daughter has been fussy lately with feeding. Until about a month ago, she always needed to nurse for at least 30-40 minutes at a time (at about 3-hour intervals), and she still feeds for that long sometimes, usually for the first and last feedings of the day. The problem: For most feedings lately, she'll eat for 3-5 minutes, stop to burp, and then fuss and push away from me if I try to put her back to the breast. Sometimes she'll eat for a few minutes on the other breast and then do the same thing. I think she needs to eat more...

4 Year Old Son Having Bad Nightmares

Lately my son has been having BAD nightmares where he "wakes" up screaming our names in terror but won't wake up. He continues to have the nightmare and finally will wake up but scared to go back to sleep. Besides him dealing with growing pains in his legs, he is not getting enough sleep. Suggestions on how to wake up little ones from nightmares are greatly appreciated.

2 1/2 Year Old Gassy!!!!!!!!

whenever my 2 1/2 year old wakes up from her nap in the afternoon she is so gassy that she just cries for like 15-20 minutes sometimes longer! This has gone on for a while, but I'm just noticing it more, but this is the ONLY time that this ever happens, then once it's over it's over. I asked her yesterday if her tummy hurt and she told me it did so I'm not sure. It's not as if she eats anything that would cause tons of gas before a nap or anything a basic lunch consists of peanut butter and jelly on wheat and maybe some cheez-its and a...

Do You Work Around Babies Schedule or Do You Make the Baby Adust to Yours.??

I have a two year old and an 8 month old. Many days we do not leave the house as it is always someones nap time. My 2 year old will only sleep in her bed... my 8 month old will sleep in the car. However I dont think a 20 minute nap in a car is good quality sleep. A friend told me that she just takes her kids wherever she is going regardless of the time of day and if it is naptime.. The kids have to adjust to moms life and schedule.. I have just found that dragging tired kids all over town is just a recipe for disaster. I think sleep...

Blankie and Thumb Sucking

I am seven months pregnant and my youngest is just about to turn three. She has a special blankie that she sleeps with and sucks her thumb with. Our pediatrician said that around three is when we should deal with the issue. I think we waited too long. Also, my concern is that if I try to take it away now and try to discourage the thumb sucking with the baby coming that the events are too close together. I know she is going to have other issues when the baby comes. Any advice about how to get rid of the blankie/thumb and opinions on...

10 Month Old Refuses to Eat Baby Food!!

I got such positive feedback on my son's sleeping issue I thought I would ask for advice on his eating baby food issue. He is 10 months old, 11 month on March 27th. He has always been a good eater when it came to babyfood, formula, whatever until about 2-3 months ago. He has 3 mealtimes a day, morning afternoon and evening and snacks inbetween. He is happy before I put him in his high chair to eat, even while I am getting his food ready he is happy, playing with the toys on his tray. I typically give him 3 things to eat, veggies, fruits,...

Sleep Issue with Almost 3Yr Old

My Daughter will be three in a couple weeks, she has always been a good sleeper since she was born. She is in a twin bed (daybed actually)and has been out of a crib for a year now. She is our only child and we have a bedtime routine and have since she was born. Now with the problem: For the past few months she started with the I'm scared in her room (from monsters to the book) we have worked through that and that is not so much the issue anymore. We know the being scared of that stuff is typical for her age but now she is getting up 3-4...

Sleeping Arrangements When Traveling

Our little girl just turned 3 and we are going on vacation with her in a couple weeks. Previously when we travelled she slept in her pack n play, but now she is much too big and is accustomed to sleeping in a "big girl bed". She has never been too good with the co sleeping arrangement as she finds it too distracting to have us so close and never stops flopping around and asking questions. We will be staying in a rental house during our trip. Has anyone used an air mattress or sleeping bag in this scenario or what do you recommend? Thanks...
